Cheap Wills

A Cheap Will is easy to find

If you want to get the cheapest Will possible go to eBay and have a look around. You will see some offered there for peanuts. Perhaps as low as £2. One of these is reviewed on this site and it is fair to say that it is a product I strongly recommend that you avoid. That really would be money badly spent.

The question is  what are you buying?

Certainly not any advice and it is doubtful that the guidance will be very good.

I have reviewed one such offering and it was hopeless and likely to lead to an invalid Will.

You can spend a bit more money of course and get a branded one, e.g. Lawpack. These are better and give a decent amount of guidance.

Then again you are still battling with the ‘flat pack furniture syndrome’ all the instructions are there but can you actually follow them?

That would be funny except that getting this important legal document wrong can have far more serious consequences than assembling a bit of wonky furniture.

To be fair one I looked did have an advice line if you neede any further advice . However it is a premium rate number charged at £1.50 per minute so you might find that the cheap will is no longer cheap at all.

I mention these points because I have witnessed what people, and these are normal, sensible people, do with these sort of products. Too often the results are alarming.

And whatever product you opt for you are still left with the issue of is your cheap Will done correctly, effectively and is it valid?
